Commercial refinishing

Church Baptismal Refinishing

Refinishing and repair for church baptismal pools and fonts: surface evaluation, repair, a new finish and scheduling around services.

Restore Your Baptistry for a Fraction of Replacement

Your baptistry is a sacred centerpiece in your church — a symbol of faith and renewal. Over time, even the most well-built baptismals begin to show wear: cracks develop, surfaces fade, or leaks appear. At Unique Refinishers, we help churches across the Southeastern United States restore their baptistries beautifully and affordably through expert baptistry refinishing, baptismal repair, and church baptistry restoration services.

Replacing a baptismal can be costly and disruptive, requiring demolition, plumbing work, and weeks of downtime. Refinishing, on the other hand, can extend the life of a sound existing baptistry by restoring a fresh, durable surface finish, while keeping disruption to your worship schedule to a minimum.

Why Choose Refinishing Over Replacement?

Church baptistry restoration offers the perfect balance of stewardship and practicality. Instead of replacing your baptismal entirely, refinishing allows your congregation to:

  • Avoid weeks of construction — most refinishing projects are completed in a few days.
  • Restore worn, stained or chipped surfaces with professional-grade coatings and repair of eligible surface damage.
  • Match your sanctuary’s design with custom colors and finishes.
  • Preserve your church’s history while making your baptistry look new again.

Our work is both practical and spiritual — honoring your space while protecting your budget.

What We Restore

Our team restores all types of baptismals, including:

  • Fiberglass baptistries (repairing cracks, staining, and dull surfaces)
  • Tile baptismals (sealing grout, repairing chips, and applying protective coatings)
  • Concrete and marble pools (repairing eligible surface damage and refining finishes)
  • Custom-built baptistries in older or historical churches

Every project begins with careful inspection, followed by professional refinishing using premium, water-resistant coatings designed for years of durability.

Our Proven Refinishing Process

  • Baptistry Evaluation: We assess your baptistry’s structure, finish, and leak condition.
  • Repair Prep: Our team repairs eligible surface cracks and chips and smooths uneven surfaces.
  • Final Curing & Inspection: After curing, we polish and inspect every surface to ensure flawless results.

Because our process is clean and efficient, most churches can resume services within a few days, making refinishing an ideal choice for busy ministries or seasonal baptisms.

We specialize in regional travel for church projects, handling everything from single refinishes to complex restorations.

Each baptistry tells a story. Whether yours is a traditional tile structure or a modern fiberglass design, our experienced technicians provide tailored solutions to restore function and appearance while respecting the sacred nature of your space.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you repair a leaking baptistry without replacing it? It depends on the cause. Refinishing restores the surface and can repair eligible surface cracks, but it is not waterproofing and it does not repair plumbing, drains, failed liners or structural leaks. We evaluate the baptistry first and will tell you if a plumber or another specialist is needed before refinishing.

How long will the new coatings last? They resist fading, chalking, and water erosion.

Can you schedule around church services or special events? Absolutely. We regularly coordinate around worship schedules, baptisms, or revivals. Many churches schedule refinishing early in the week so the baptistry is ready by Sunday services.

Yes. We stand behind our work and provide ongoing support if touch-ups are ever needed.

What’s the typical project timeline? Most baptistry refinishing and church baptistry restoration projects take just 2–4 days, depending on size and condition. Larger restorations or churches with multiple pools may take slightly longer, but downtime is minimal.

Planning a commercial project

What to plan for on a multi-unit project

Most commercial refinishing decisions come down to the same questions: which fixtures are good candidates, how many rooms can be out of service at once, and how the work fits around guests, residents and staff.

  • Refinish or replace?

Refinishing suits fixtures that are structurally sound: worn, stained, dated or chipped surfaces on porcelain, cast iron, steel, acrylic and fiberglass. Fixtures that are cracked through, leaking, flexing or failing structurally are better replaced, and we say so when we evaluate them.

  • Fixture suitability

Before quoting a portfolio we look at representative rooms: the fixture material, any previous coating, chips and rust, caulk and grout condition, and access. That keeps the scope realistic and identifies rooms that need repair or replacement instead.

  • Room downtime & phasing

Work is scheduled in batches, by floor, building or unit stack, so the rest of the property stays in service. Return-to-service timing depends on the coating system, ventilation and conditions, and is confirmed for your property during planning.

  • Coordination on site

We plan access, keys, ventilation, parking, elevators and resident or guest notices with your engineering, housekeeping or maintenance team, and keep one point of contact for the project.

  • Procurement & renovation planning

We can document scope, fixture counts and phasing for capital plans, renovation budgets, bids and purchasing. Ask for the insurance certificates and documentation your procurement process requires.

  • Nationwide availability

We take on commercial projects across the United States. Travel, materials and production are planned for each property, and scheduling depends on project size and timing.
